Next Year

2016 feels like it passed in just a few seconds and yet it slowed down just enough to let me enjoy it.

But it went by so fast, I didn’t really get to do what I wanted to do- which is write.

That’s why next year I’m challenging myself to write more and read more in 2017. I don’t really know what that will look like yet, but I’ve still got a little time to figure it out.

So– I’m going to journal it out. I’m gonna spend some time thinking about next year and what I want from it.

Feel free to comment below about your new year dreams.

We live and breathe words

Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince, writing quote

“We live and breathe words…. It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them. Reading your words, what you wrote, how you were lonely sometimes and afraid, but always brave; the way you saw the world, its colors and textures and sounds, I felt–I felt the way you thought, hoped, felt, dreamt. I felt I was dreaming and thinking and feeling with you. I dreamed what you dreamed, wanted what you wanted–and then I realized that truly I just wanted you.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince

Words transform the world – getting lost in them for hours on end can make it feel as if you aren’t alone. Words make the world a better place to live in.

Writing Prompt #32

This is your year.

We are halfway through 2015 and that novel you’ve been talking about… you still haven’t written it.

2015 is your year. Its your year to get off your lazy butt and start writing your novel. Stop ignoring that little nagging voice in the back of your mind. You know, that voice that reminds you when you should talk action instead of sitting by and letting the opportunity to write slip away.

So today…. write something that moves you forward. I know that’s what I will be doing today.
