We live and breathe words

Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince, writing quote

“We live and breathe words…. It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them. Reading your words, what you wrote, how you were lonely sometimes and afraid, but always brave; the way you saw the world, its colors and textures and sounds, I felt–I felt the way you thought, hoped, felt, dreamt. I felt I was dreaming and thinking and feeling with you. I dreamed what you dreamed, wanted what you wanted–and then I realized that truly I just wanted you.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Prince

Words transform the world – getting lost in them for hours on end can make it feel as if you aren’t alone. Words make the world a better place to live in.

Enemy of Creativity

writing quote, Sylvia Plath
“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” ― Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

Never doubt yourself. When you doubt yourself and your writing you block your creativity. When you doubt yourself you stop writing and you stop creating. Have the courage to write and the imagination to improvise. Otherwise you are just fighting yourself.

Maya Angelou on Writing

Maya Angelou, writing quote, quote
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

There is an untold story within you. There is a story that is waiting for you to sit down and write. Every minute that you spend not writing, you are torturing yourself. So what are you doing today? Are you going to spend some time writing your story or are you going to let it torture you?
